Luis Rodríguez is the Legal Affairs Director for Grupo Cocomex. An expert in construction, engineering, and legal contracts, Luis is one of the youngest Legal Affairs Directors in Mexico. His line of work is related with public and private bidding, EPC plus Row Turnkey contracts, and he attends all meetings for all other companies within Grupo Cocomex.
 
Some other areas that Luis develops in the Grupo Cocomex are: migratory law, labour law, corporate law, constitutional law and amparo lawsuit, energetics and land acquisition procedures required by the Projects, and all he develop work related with public and private bid procedures.
 
Luis attended Universidad Latinoamericana where he received his Bachelor’s in Law. His role at Grupo Cocomex is multi faceted, and one of their goals included providing professional guidance throughout the bidding process for the Tula Branch Pipeline in Mexico. These negotiations were held with one of the world’s greatest lawyers, Mr. John Craig from Bennet Jones law firm, in 2014.
 
Other milestones Luis’ career include:

  • Contribution with Halliburton de México, S. de R.L. de C.V. in the process of a public biding for a Project with PEMEX, which was awarded in 2012 to such Company with a $100,000,000.00 USD contract.

 

  • Negotiation of three contracts with Saipem ENI.: i) One for a Pipeline and, ii) Two Mechanical Work for the Project el Encino-Topolobampo in Chihuahua, which is currently on execution.

 

  • Negotiation of one contract with ICA FLOUR DANIELS S. DE R.L C.V. for civil and Mechanical Works required for the project Called: “Los Ramones Fase II Sur Natural Gas Pipeline”.

 
Also some other goals include several contract negotiations with some of the most important Trade Unions such the SUTERM, CTM, and minor local trade union  located at the sites place where Grupo COCOMEX execute its projects.
 
Currently Luis is, in parallel with his work at Grupo Cocomex, consolidating together with other attorneys a law firm project called LSSB ATTORNEYS, which tends to become one of the most important and remarkable law firm in Mexico.
 
Luis enjoys reading and swimming in his free time. He is fluent in Spanish and English. He also plays a reliable role for the United Nations, and provides translation for the UN as needed. He currently lives in Mexico City, Mexico.
