Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Anne Gibson

Anne Gibson is a multifaceted individual with experience in flying, being a medical technician, musician, professor, and now writer, movie maker and editor. Anne has been the President of her own production company Toucan Productions, Inc. since 2009, writing and producing her own scripts.

Anne has produced various short films which have been screened at several film festivals including Moondance. Anne is the writer of a feature film called “Phobia,” which is available to view on demand. She also wrote and produced a song titled “Hey, Kid”, and just finished “Nightmare in B Flat,” a spoof of horror movies.

Anne is a native Texan, born and raised. At the age of 17 Anne attended her first college and got her background in science and learned to fly. As there weren’t many jobs for women in that field, Anne attended another college to receive a degree in medical technology. After 10 years as a medical technologist Anne went into her graduate studies in French which she had taught herself to speak using records. That led to her earning her Ph. D. in French from the University of Texas and she settled into her second career as a professor. Anne taught French Literature for 28 years, including a graduate course in French Writers and the Holocaust, at the University of Texas, Arlington.

For her contributions in education Anne has been awarded the Wichita State University Plaza of Heroines Member/Inductee for Appreciation of Women in the Women’s Studies Program.

She became immersed in teaching using computers, TV cameras, and movies as a way to learn language, and soon wanted to do nothing else but write and produce movies, there started Toucan Productions. Anne attributes her success to the errors and lessons learned during her youth and says the purpose of pain is to learn and grow. In the next 5 years Anne Gibson aspires to develop a sitcom for network broadcast, an animation feature, a short film, and feature length film.
