Boasting an outstanding team of professionals with a successful advisory track record of over US$ 10 Billion in mergers and acquisitions, Trust & Co has developed extensive experience in connecting investors throughout the world, providing in depth knowledge about the Brazilian market and structuring complex financial solutions for highly demanding clients.

In addition to his role as Trust & Co’s CEO, Sergio Maia also acts as a corporate board member (chartered by IBGC – Brazilian Institute for Corporate Governance) at some of Brazil’s leading companies, especially in the consumer goods and retailing sectors. Sergio’s expertise and M&A track record in the Brazilian retail sector traces back to his role his role as Sonae Brasil’s CEO, in which he orchestrated the largest supermarket consolidation process in the south of Brazil, culminating in the sale of Sonae to Walmart.

Sergio has a Bachelor of Accounting and Business Administration and an MBA in Strategy and Finance. Sergio believes hard work and commitment are the keys to his success and values that permeate Trust & Co as a whole, along with strategic thinking with financial acumen. In the past, Sergio Maia has also been a university teacher at PUC and University Portucalense, both located in Oporto, Portugal.
