Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Adrian Crewe

With over 25 years of experience, Adrian Crewe is one of South Africa’s leading experts in Media Strategy, Brand Communication and Business Development. After many years in the public sector and NGO world, he established his own business, Umoya Consulting in 2011 in Cape Town, South Africa.He services his clients by providing consulting services aimed at strategic leadership in the public and private sector. Specifically, he specializes in diagnostic assessments, knowledge management, communication systems redesigns, and M&E. He brings it all together to build the transparent, self-reflexive, “thinking organization.”

Committed to the pursuit of knowledge, Adrian holds an MSc in Information Systems from the University of Brighton, an MA in African Studies from the University of Sussex, an MA in English Literature from the University of Cambridge (St John’s College) and a BA (Hons) in English from the University of Natal.He taught Literature and African Studies at the University of Sussex from 1976 to 1988. After 20 years in exile, he returned to South Africa and started a new career as Head of Communication in the Department of Transport, before moving on to the position of Special Advisor to the Minister.Prior to founding Umoya Consulting, he was National Director of the Public Policy Partnership from 2002 to 2011 – a program that fast-tracked the brightest and best of young South African students for careers in the public service and NGO sector.

He is considered a senior expert in public policy and is currently consulting to the Department of Trade and Industry in South Africa on key issues of industrial policy.

When Adrian isn’t using his experience to grow businesses he stays active by playing squash and cricket. He currently resides in Cape Town, South Africa and is fluent in English, Portuguese, Afrikaans, and Spanish.
