Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Adrian Sawyer
Dr. Adrian Sawyer has been a herald for change in the Australasian tax world. A Professor of Taxation at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, he was just awarded the ATTA Hill Medal at the annual Australasian Tax Teachers Association Conference in January 2015. The conference, which was recently hosted by the University of Adelaide, celebrated 27 years of the ATTA and focused on the theme Tax – “It’s time” for change. The ATTA Hill Medal is awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions to tax teaching and policy in Australasia.
At the conference, Prof. Sawyer was also elected President of the ATTA, a position which he will hold for the next 2 years. In addition to his recognition and election, he also chaired a session on administrative approaches to tax dispute resolution, cost sharing of pensions and analysis of the correlation between corporate tax aggressiveness. He himself presented jointly with Karrie Sadiq: Developing Nations and the Automatic Exchange of Information Standard- A ‘One Size Fits All’ Solution? Prof Sawyer serves on the editorial board of the Journal of the Australasian Tax Teachers Association, and looks forward to his next steps with the organization.
