Founding Director of ARQUITECTURA Maria Teresa Machado SAS, a creative design firm located in Chico, in Bogotá Norte, Which has become the New Centro of Bogota. Her company has completed projects in Caracas, Venezuela, too. They have become especially adept at shaping their architectural and interior design language, using regional materials and technologies, based on the character of a place, and more importantly, how people live and work there.

ARQUITECTURA Maria Teresa Machado SAS is an architecture and interior design firm, specialized in the integration of interior design; architecture, space planning, remodeling and conceptual ideas; as well as project management and construction administration.

Their design work is often described as having a refined, elegant aesthetic. Her company believes that they become better designers by always trying new things, which allows them to bring a fresh eye to everything they do, always valuing the development of a strong working relationship with clients, to give them the personal attention they deserve, and provide an acute understanding of a client’s need for exclusivity and groundbreaking aesthetics.

For more than 20 years Maria has developed a keen understanding of the concept of luxury and makes her clients feel like royalty, priding herself in giving them impeccable service and producing structured work that is top-notched. She attended Architecture in UCV, Caracas, she move to New York and attended some courses in Pratt Institute including Sculpture and Art critique. She has worked as an Architect/Interior Designer/Furniture Sales Executive for Fursys, and for Ciao Cucine, Caracas. After this she was an independent Art Dealer and Art Director for several TV commercials until she eventually worked independently as a freelance Architect prior to establishing her own business.

Maria enjoys playing tennis and visiting art galleries in her spare time. She also volunteers as a professional consultant working toward the improvement and renewal of spaces at children’s centers for adoptions in Bogota. She also enjoys giving back to the community.
