An experienced executive manager with a thorough and diverse skill set, Arturo Garcia brings his expertise to the role of Strategic and Process Management VP at Grupo Bimbo. Today, Grupo Bimbo are the most important Baking Company in the world in brand positioning, production volume and sales. The undisputable leader in their field in Mexico, Latin America and the United States, they are present in 22 countries in America, Asia and Europe with over 10,000 products and over 100 brands of acknowledged prestige. In this role Arturo’s key responsibilities are: leading the strategic planning process; developing business standards; identifying growth opportunities; overseeing acquisitions processes and developing, maintaining and improving the Global Business Process Framework and the Knowledge Management strategy. In the 4 years he has been with the company, Arturo has made many significant achievements including the successful implementation of new management model through Balanced Scorecard methodology in 18 countries that helped Grupo Bimbo increase its EBITDA margin in 2013 by 1.7pp and leading a successful integration of Grupo Bimbo with Maple Leaf Bread business in Canada, USA and UK identifying synergies for $80 MM USD.
Arturo holds an MBA from IPADE, a diploma of Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from ITESM. He started his working life as a Strategy and Operations Consultant with Deloitte Consulting where he lead the improvement and process redesign projects, through the development of business cases and implementation of best practices in the areas of Supply Chain, Purchasing and Finance to world class companies in the Automotive, Consumer Business and Finance industries. After this he took on the role of Strategy Execution Manager for Symnetics where he was responsible for leading strategy execution projects (balanced scorecard) in the consumer goods and energy industries through the definition of business objectives, key performance indicators, goals and initiatives. As far as public speaking is concerned, Arturo has participated in many conferences related to strategy execution and processes improvement.
Interested in networking with like-minded professionals and sharing his expertise, Arturo is open to new business opportunities and credits his current success to his visionary and analytics skills. Within the next few years, he would like to be the head of a business unit and process improvement. Living in Mexico City, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis and outdoor sports in his spare time. Arturo is fluent in Spanish and English.
