Paul Stheeman is a self-employed Independent Treasury Executive & Consultant based out of Germany. Establishing his private practice in 2011, he provides advisory services in all areas of treasury management. Paul has established a world class in-house bank, recognized by external bank partners as best in class, and led the centralization, transition and integration of a Treasury function from Germany to London. Before branching out on his own, he held various directorships of holding companies, financing entities and insurance companies. In addition, he serves as a panel member at PMC Treasury.
 
He served as Senior Treasurer to DEMINEX for 17 years, during which time he 1995 received an ACI-Diploma. Paul also introduced and led project finance activities at Petro-Canada. With over 25 years of experience developing and managing complex global treasury operations in large and small, private and public multinational corporations, Paul is an expert at maintaining liquidity. He is highly skilled at analyzing financial instruments/markets, managing FX, commodity and interest rate hedging programs. Paul is an experienced leader, communicator and negotiator.
 
Now in semi-retirement, Paul no longer works full time but fully enjoys the projects he accepts and is keen to pass on his experience when the opportunity arises. He specializes on setting up a Treasury function for private equity investors in international greenfield projects. He is a member of the British Business Club Düsseldorf, VdT (Verband deutscher Treasurer) and the DDIM (Deutsche Dachgesellschaft Interim Manager). Paul’s work has taken him to various parts of Germany, Norway and the UK. Now based in Duesseldorf, Paul speaks German, French and some Dutch.
