Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Terrica Maura and Cassie Maura-Rahming
Terrica Maura and Cassie Maura-Rahming are the Founders of No Dancer Left Behind Inc (NDLB), a non-profit organization under the umbrella of Diversity Dance Center that provides free dance classes to disadvantaged youth in the Sunrise, Florida area.
No Dancer Left Behind was inspired by Artistic Director, Terrica Maura. Cassie’s daughter took on a passion for dance at and early age and has over 15 years of training in various styles of dance while pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Terrica and Cassie’s vision to help others was encouraged by the many youth wanting to attend dance classes but didn’t have the means to pay. They are between 6 to 19 years of age, including some youth with Autism. Their mission is “to empower and educate deserving youth with strong leadership and social skills through technical dance training that builds self confidence and minimizes obesity.”
No Dancer Left Behind is a scholarship program that has helped many girls receive college scholarships and achieve life goals they never thought possible. As Co-Founder, Cassie is responsible for fundraising which is needed to provide Dance scholarships for students, production cost and future transportation to transport students to performances and local charitable evens as well as coordinating performances, costuming, social media and marketing.
Cassie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Barry University. A true humanitarian for the greater good, she volunteers at cultural and artistic festivals throughout Miami Dade County in her spare time. Cassie is proud to announce that she recently received a proclamation from the Mayor of Sunrise Florida declaring January 24th as “No Dancer Left Behind” day.
NDLB non-profit organization prepares students that have a documented financial hardship for college-level performance, and a few of the students have recently received college scholarships with the skills provided by the dance school. Using dance as a platform, the program encourages hard work and consistency, as well as healthy eating habits. Literature and healthy snacks are provided to children and parents to take home in an effort to fight child obesity.
Cassie and Terrica take great joy in being the founders of such a wonderful organization, helping to make dreams come true for less fortunate youth in Sunrise, Florida.
