Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Brigitte Goldstein
Brigitte Goldstein is a writer of historical novels at Pierredor Books, her own imprint. She worked in publishing for over 25 years. Besides four historical novels, she also has several published translations of German literary works to her credit. With a lifelong interest in history and literature as well as writing, her keen eye for historical conflicts, especially early modern France, has provided rich material for her novels. This passion for literature and history—particularly European novels—finds its full expression in her writings.
After earning a PhD in European History from New York University in 1984, Brigitte taught college history for a period, and then worked in publishing. Since retiring, she has turned to writing historical novels full time. Her published novels are: Princess of the Blood—A Tapestry of Love and War in Sixteenth-Century France; Court of Miracles—A Human Comedy of Seventeenth-Century France; Dina’s Lost Tribe, which takes place in part in fourteenth-century France. For her fourth novel, Death of a Diva—From Berlin to Broadway, Brigitte returned to the early twentieth-century German-speaking world, the background of her dissertation. Diva was awarded a silver medal by the 2015 Feathered Quill Book Awards in the category of historical fiction as well as special five-star recommendation from US Review of Books. She is at work on a new novel set in the immediate post-WWII era in Germany.
In addition to writing, Brigitte enjoys photography, traveling, classical music, noir movies and theater. More about Brigitte’s personal story and inspirations can be found on her website, http://www.brigittegoldstein.com and http://www.pierredorbooks.com She lives in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
