Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes David J. Ricci

David J. Ricci is the Director of Customer Service and Warranty at Birdair, Inc, a position he has held for nearly 20 years. Birdair, Inc is the leading specialty contractor for custom tensile membrane structures throughout the world. During his years at Birdair, David developed a highly successful research and development program concerning structural building materials. He was also part of a team that designed and patented numerous aluminum attachment systems now used throughout the membrane industry.
 
After completing a degree in Engineering (Art/Science) from Cornell University, David went on to study engineering at the University of Buffalo in 1987. Before joining Birdair in 1996, David worked as a Production Manager for Crest Foods and an R&D Engineer for Olsen Hydraulics. Among the more notable projects his firm has worked on includes world-class stadiums such as the Dallas Cowboys and Fifa Stadiums.
 
David speaks frequently at internal company events and externally at sports arenas field-related conferences. He contributes his success to the fact that he loves his profession it continues to peak his interest and always provides a great learning experience. He also thanks his education and professors from both Cornell and University of Buffalo. David mostly enjoys the fact that his job provides new projects and different avenues to learn, “no day is ever the same”. Overall goal is to continue working on new development plan for space age flexible materials, planetary excursions for buildings. Currently, he is experimenting with PV panels to improve wattage output – goal is to increase by 250%.
 
David currently resides in Cheektowaga, New York. He speaks both English and Spanish. In his spare time, David enjoys skiing, fishing, and biking in the beautiful upstate New York wilderness.
