Tapio Saramäki is a Professor of Signal Processing and a Docent of Telecommunications at Tampere University of Technology (TUT), Finland. Tapio earned honors receiving his Engineering Diploma (1978) and Doctorate of Technology (1981) in electrical engineering from (TUT), Finland. He has three patents and has contributed to 250+ international journals and conference articles as well as more than eight international book chapters. In addition, Tapio is also a co-founder and a system-level designer at VLSI Solution Oy, established in 1991 in Tampere, Finland. He is recognized as a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and has shared his knowledge all over the world. His research expertise is in digital signal processing, including filter design and VLSI implementations and other valuable specialized skills. Tapio is a Fellow of the IEEE and the Russian A. S. Popov Society. He is an Associate Editor of Circuits, Systems, and Signal Processing. Tapio is currently writing a book on digital singular processing filters and is passionate about generating new ideas in his field.
