Sylvana Mestre is the CEO of Asociación Play and Train, an organization she founded in 2009 that advocates sports and leisure opportunities for people with disabilities. A leader in the cause for sports, recreation and recognition for people with disabilities, Sylvana has been a key figure in the international sports and advocacy landscape for nearly 2 decades. Beginning as a guide for visually impaired skiers in 1996, she went on to become a coach.
 
Play and Train offers people with a disability and their families the opportunities to practice, learn and train in sports and leisure activities, regardless of their ability, gender or age. By organizing camps, training and cultural programs to achieve these goals, Play and Train achieve their mission in a manner that is sustainable and leads to long-term development of sport for persons with a disability.
 
Play and Train as a non-profit social business has a consulting branch, Play and Train helps business around the world to become inclusive in their core.
 
In 2014, Sylvana joined the Snow Sports Development department of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). She is a member of the Paralympic Order of the IPC, and has been recognized by the IPC Women in Sport Committee. She has been the chairperson of the IPC Alpine Skiing Sport Technical Committee since 2006.
 
Sylvana resides in Escadarcs, Spain, and speaks fluent English, French, Catalan and Spanish. In her spare time, she keeps her competitive streak alive by playing sports herself, and enjoys reading and cooking.
