In addition, Ana is the author of several books about corporate law.
Ana Tereza Basilio is a lawyer of many titles in her field. Her titles, past and current, are as follows: Mayor of Mediation and Arbitration, Bar Association of Brazil Section of the State of Rio de Janeiro, since December 2004; Chairman of the Law Firm of the Order of Lawyers of Brazil Section of the State of Rio de Janeiro, from October 2003; Vice-Chairman of the Arbitration Bar Association of Brazil Section of the State of Rio de Janeiro, from October 2003; Elected the Chief Counselor of the Brazilian Bar Association in two successive three-year periods (2000 to 2003 & 2003 to 2006); Member of the Organizing Committee of the Fifth Call for Federal Judge of the Federal Court of the 2nd Region, by appointment by the Federal Bar Association of Brazil (2004/2005); Member of the Examining Committee of the VI Competition for Federal Judge of the Federal Court of the 2nd Region, by appointment by the Federal Bar Association of Brazil (2005/2006); appointed Member of the Committee to Fight Piracy and Unfair Competition of the Federal Committee of the Brazilian Bar Association, from July 2005 to December 2006; appointed to the Special Committee to Fight Piracy and Unfair Competition of the Federal Committee of the Brazilian Lawyers Association, of which she is still a member; Member of the Editorial Committee of the Arbitration and Mediation Magazine; Member of the Corporate Law Committee from the Escola da Magistratura (Judge’s School) of the High Court of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
Ms. Bastilio’s exemplary accomplishments and contributions have led her to be recognized by her field and her peers. She has been chosen as Leading Individual in Latin America in the area of English Arbitration by Latin Lawyer Magazine in 2006, and she was also spotlighted as the Leading Individual among the list of World’s Best Lawyers in the area of Business Litigation by British Magazine Who`s Who in 2006.
