Barry Fischer is a pragmatic veteran litigator recognized by his peers as a distinguished heavyweight. Currently Partner at the Barry Fischer Law Firm LLC, he provides leadership and vision. He specializes in commercial litigation and has appeared on behalf of his clients in courts and arbitration hearings throughout the US for more than 40 years. His clients include large and mid-size Latin American companies and high net worth individuals with interests in banking, financial services, sugar and ethanol production, mineral extraction, media and real estate development.
A magna cum laude graduate of Princeton University and of Albany Law School, Barry was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and many United States Courts of Appeal and District Courts. He is a member of the bar of New York, Florida, the American Bar Association and the Bar of the City of New York. A great supporter of continuing education, he has taught trial tactics and strategy for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy at Duke University Law School and The University of Pennsylvania Law School. He has lectured at the Practicing Law Institute on conducting complex factual investigations and was a contributing author of a book on investigative techniques. Barry has appeared on many television and radio interviews and as a television talk show panelist associated with his litigation practice. He has also appeared as a guest commentator on the Courtroom Television Network. Elected by peers and rated in top 5% of all 93,000 metropolitan New York City attorneys, he has been recognized by Thompson Reuters as a Super Lawyer in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. There’s more than meets the eye however where Barry is concerned: when he isn’t busy being a Super Lawyer he writes novels. “Elegant Solution”, a fast read full of humorous scoundrels with interesting plot twists is a novel based upon an actual $1 billion Ponzi scheme in Florida. “The Disintegration of Adam Wheeler” is soon to be published in 2015.
