Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Carsten Bosselmann

Carsten Bosselmann is the COO of Ferroport. A joint venture between South African mining company Anglo American and the Brazilian Prumo Logistics, Ferroport is a private Brazilian company that operates in the infrastructure and logistics sector of bulk material. It is a medium-sized company in the start up phase and is responsible for stockpiling and exporting iron ore at the Port of Açu. Carsten is responsible for the operational area of Ferroport, including port operation and maintenance services, navigation, port administration and security. He has experience in project management, greenfield projects, budget controlling, implementation and commissioning of industrial and logistical plants. While at Ferroport, he prepared the company to be operational within 14 months.
 
After obtaining a Dipl.-Ing. (Master’s) in Metallurgical Engineering from the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) Aachen University (1986-1992), Carsten worked for ThyssenKrupp for 20 years. He began as a Production Manager, and rose through the ranks to become the Director for Port and Logistics in the Brazilian steel mill subsidiary ThyssenKrupp CSA. Originally from Germany, Carsten has been in Brazil for the last 14 years. He has broad experience in leading intercultural and interdisciplinary teams, joint venture projects, leading with several shareholders, and the implementation and operation of a greenfield steel service center in Brazil (ThyssenKrupp).
 
Carsten often takes part in podium discussions for the annual VDEH meetings along with having the material he presents published for the audience.  He is also part of the logistical working group of The Brazilian and German Economic Chamber in Rio de Janeiro where he presented “How to erect and construct greenfield projects in Brazil.” He is a member of the German Association of Steel Industry Professionals and the Brazilian & German Economic Chamber in Rio de Janeiro.
 
Currently a resident of Brazil, Carsten is always looking for future opportunities for professional development and growth, also outside Brazil and Germany. He is fluent in Portuguese, English and German, and has basics in French. He enjoys golf, hiking, traveling and attending the cinema in his spare time.
