Specializing in wealth management, portfolio management, investment advice, mutual funds, risk management and retirement planning; Derek is a financial mastermind at the top of his game. It stands to reason then that Derek would be working for Canada’s most award winning institution. This year alone NBF received awards in two categories for their customer service from the Ipsos Best Banking Awards Canada; were listed as one of the World’s Greenest Banks by Bloombberg Markets Magazine; won the Best Product Performance in Canada at the North American Structured Products Conference; were ranked one of the Best Canadian Brands by Interbrand; the Prix Arts-Affaires de Montréal for their contribution to the arts and made Montreal’s Top Employer list by Mediacorp Canada Inc.
Derek has focused his professional career on meeting the unique needs of high net worth clients, their families and businesses. With more than 17 years in the financial services sector, he has held specialized roles in Portfolio Management, Investment Advice, Wealth Planning, Commercial Banking and Risk Management.
Together with his clients, Derek develops long-term wealth plans that leverage a high-level portfolio strategy and drive strategic and tactical asset allocation, portfolio construction and investment allocations. Derek works closely with a team of specialists to ensure a thorough implementation of clients’ wealth plans and investment strategies and establishes a consistent review process supporting transparency and accountability.
Derek develops deep relationships with his clients, gaining a deep understanding of their needs, goals and future plans. Then, with great attention to detail, he works with clients to satisfy those needs, delivering the highest level of customer experience.
Currently residing in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, Derek can be found coaching the local hockey team in his spare time.
