Dr. Dante Parodi, a distinguished surgeon with over 20 years in his profession, earned his MD as an Orthopedic Surgeon at the University of Chile with Highest Distinction. Dr. Parodi currently resides in Santiago, Chile, working with the Fundacion Medica San Cristobal. His main role is to act as Hip and pelvis surgeon , especially in preservation and arthroscopic surgery, as well as replacement surgery.
 
Dr. Parodi serves as an Editorial Board Member for the Hip International European Journal, the Austin Journal of Orthopedics & Rheumatology, and the World Journal of Orthopedics. He is also a consultant for Smith and Nephew, as well as Stryker, as a hip surgeon.
 
He travels several times a year for business, and has several current roles in clinics and as an educator. He is Chief of Trauma Emergency at Clinca Alemana in Santiago, and Chief of Hip and Pelvis Team at Hospital Padre. He is also Deputy Chief of the Traumatology at Hospital Padre Hurtado, and a Member of Hip and Pelvis Team at Santiago. In addition to these roles, he is Trauma Unit Coordinator –at Clinca Alemana, and he is the President of a children’s foundation in Chile and also volunteers his time. Dr. Parodi also gives of his time and skills in a fair share of pro-bono medical work.
 
In the medical education field, he’s held several teaching positions, such as Professor of Medicine at Universidad del Desarrollo, and running a Hip Surgery and Pelvis Training Program at Hospital Padre Hurtado and Clinca Alemana. He is also a Traumatology Department Scientific Officer at Clinca Alemana.
 
On the way to his current role, Dr. Parodi underwent several internships in hip and pelvis surgery to gain the valuable experience his patients and colleagues rely on him for today. These internships include: Insselspital Bern Switzerland with Prof. R. Ganz (2000), The Hospital for Joint Diseases, New York, USA (1996), Clinical Plato and Parc Tauli, Barcelona, Spain (1998), Liestal with Prof. Oschner Kantonspital, (1999), University Hospital of Ulm, Germany, (2001), and HSS, New York, USA, (2005).
 
Dr. Parodi is affiliated with several scientific societies, and is an Honorary Member of Colombian Orthopaedic Society (2013), an Honorary Member of Polish Arthroscopy Society (2009), Member ISHA (2009), Corresponding Member of Hip Surgeons Argentina Association (2007), Traumatology and Orthopedics Society of Chile (2000), Society of Sports Medicine of Chile (2001), and the Hip Secretary Committee (2004 and 2005).
 
Dr. Parodi can be seen regularly speaking at seminars regarding the care of the elderly people and early treatment. He has been published in the Arthroscopy Journal in 2012 and 2014, and in a British journal in 2013 on technical surgery. He credits his success to his effort, hard work, his passion and most importantly his family.
 
Dr. Parodi would like to network with other physicians in the same field, share his expertise by collaborating with others. Within the next few years, he would like to develop surgical investigations and continue to make a difference in the health care industry. He enjoys skiing, sailing, and wind surfing near his home in Santiago, Chile.
