Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Dr. Jianduan Zhang
Dr. Jianduan Zhang is an Associate Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). In addition to her professorial duties, she also acts as a supervisor and mentor to students in a PhD program. An expert in maternal and child health and statistics, her most recent research interest has been primarily in child growth, nutrition and obesity problems. Cross-cultural in scope, her work centers on comparing early growth and obesity development from children in both high-and low-risk families, through longitudinal follow-up.
She earned her MD from Tongji Medical University in 1999, and went on to complete a PhD in Child Health Promotion in 2008. Most recently, she became a Fellow at the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University to receive her Master’s in International Development Policy (MIDP), for which her expected completion date is September 2015.
Dr. Zhang has a true passion for her work and in her spare time she provides training at a local community health center. She also assists the China Youth League group with creating healthy lifestyle plans for schools. Very clear about her goals, she is focused on using her research to implement a positive change in public policy. Looking to the future, Dr. Zhang hopes to continue working in the USA, and gain more professional development and work experience. She is a member of the Preventative Medical Association Society of China, and speaks fluent Mandarin and English.
