Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Dr. Kathleen Earthrowl
Dr. Kathleen Earthrowl is an accomplished professional with over 30 years experience as a painter. Specializing in sensory art, she loves being inspired by nature and the outdoors. At a young age, Kathleen was always attracted to the creative world.
She teaches us that sensory art is a process that evolves from within and drives the creation of a work of art. It requires listening to ones’ self and ones’ senses, as in poetry or other media where words “bubble up” from within. Sensory images within trigger the artist to paint from their inner sensory being. Kathleen says her paintings lead and she follows, meaning that she allows her heart, gut and senses to lead. “It’s an improvisation, exciting, stimulating and energizing. It’s like choreographing a dance or playing Jazz.”
Kathleen is a licensed therapist and utilizes her expertise and applies her skills to her art. Due to the challenge of having a full time practice, Kathleen decided to transition to doing art full time. In addition, she also teaches art workshops on a university level.
Kathleen enjoys modern dance and studied voice. She is an affiliate of the Art Society of Houston and Kingswood, and enjoys music and musical events, museums, and walking outdoors. She holds a PhD in Psychology and Art, and resides in Kingwood, Texas.
