Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Dr. Paul Bavelaar LL.M.

 
Dr. Paul Bavelaar is Lawyer and Advocate at the Dutch legal firm Bavelaar & Bavelaar Advocaten Rechtsanwälte with offices in Amsterdam and Hamburg. He is admitted to the Dutch Bar (Amsterdam) and the German bar (Frankfurt am Main). Paul has been in his professional career for more than 22 years, having established Bavelaar & Bavelaar Advocaten Rechtsanwälte, in 2012. He holds the title of Advocaat & Rechtsanwalt at the firm, and his main role is to handle M&A law and real estate transactions. As a public speaker, he holds monthly conferences with the Dutch and German Chambers of Commerce and the Dutch and German Bar.
 
Dr. Bavelaar completed his law studies at the University of Amsterdam with distinction. He went on to receive his doctorate in 1993 with honors (magna cum laude) at the Christian Albrecht University in Kiel (Germany). His Dutch thesis supervisor was Professor Dr. Timmerman, who is the current Advocate General at the Dutch Supreme Court. His thesis is depicts the liability of parent companies for the liabilities of the subsidiaries with particular emphasis on management.
 
In March 2012, Dr. Bavelaar founded the firm Bavelaar & Bavelaar Advocaten. Because of its focus on both Dutch and the German law and being doubly Admitted in both the Netherlands and in Germany, the clientele of Dr. Bavelaar is 85% German or German companies which conduct cross-border activities. Dr. Bavelaar’s main role at the firm rests within the fields of business law, corporate law and real estate law. Since 1993, he has overseen a variety of sales, accompanied mergers, restructuring and real estate transactions. Also included in his work are the economic aspects of the represented company, with the aim of being able to achieve an optimum result from all aspects of the client base. In addition, Dr. Bavelaar represents his clients in court proceedings and in arbitration.
 
Dr. Bavelaar is seeking to network with like-minded professionals, share expertise and consult where needed. He credits his inspiration throughout his career to his father, a well-respected entrepreneur. He bases his success on vast knowledge of law in the Netherlands and Germany and contract litigation. Within the next few years, he is looking to expand his firm.
 
Dr. Bavelaar resides in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and is affiliated with the Dutch and German Bar Association. He is also a lecturer at the Amsterdam School of Real Estate at the University of Amsterdam and publishes regularly on legal and economic issues.
 
When he has the opportunity, Dr. Bavelaar enjoys equestrian sports.  His horses Vesuvius and Ecorado take him to regional, national and international tournaments for show jumping up to the highest classes. He is also a board member of the KNHS (the Dutch Equestrian Federation) and the KWPN (the Dutch Breeders Association). Since 2009 he has been Chairman of the Board of Stichting Veilige Paardensport (SVP), a foundation strongly committed to safety in equestrian sport.
