Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Eileen Murray

 
Eileen Murray has worked in non-profit and municipal government sectors for 35 years.
 
After obtaining degrees in Latin American Studies from Mount Holyoke College (BA) and Stanford University (MA), Eileen settled in the San Francisco Bay Area; where she worked first as an ‘ESL’ teacher, then in the newspaper and publishing industry.
 
Eileen served S.F. Bay Area and West Coast YMCA’s for many years, as Associate Director of the ‘Bay Area YMCA Management Resource Center’.   She also served as International Program Director; working with Y’s around the world on youth & adult leadership initiatives, English language programs, camp counselor exchanges, and more.  As a ‘faculty’ trainer, and regional coordinator of Y International programs, she traveled extensively; with the YMCA and as a “Sister City” delegate.
 
Eileen then worked as a Personnel Analyst with City & County of San Francisco, Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), from 1999-2009.  Starting as a specialist in Recruitment, Selection, and Classification; she later developed a specialty in ADA and EEO-related employment issues, and labor negotiation.
 
Eileen followed both careers into the volunteer sector.  She served 10 years on the Board of Managers for a local Y Camp & Conference Center, and was named ‘Volunteer of the Year’.  Eileen now volunteers with a YMCA Alumni Association; contributing columns and social media updates for local, national, and international Y groups.
 
She is an appointed member of the County of Marin Personnel Commission, a planning & policy advisory body to the Board of Supervisors, County Administrator, and HR Director.  The commission also investigates County personnel administration and makes recommendations for improving the quality of such administration.
 
Eileen has long believed in the power and value of ‘networking’, and is excited to be a new member of ‘Bristol Who’s Who’!
