Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Filipe dos Santos Pernas

 
Filipe dos Santos Pernas is responsible for all Business Development at XARMADIS in Lisbon, Portugal. Here, he reports directly to the General Manager, is responsible for implementation, management and business development of the new Pharmaceutical Distributor in Portugal.
 
Prior to this new role acquired in 2015, he became the Hospital Pharmacy Manager at Clinica Multiperfil. Filipe is a trained professional who, plain and simply, “gets the job done.”  He has an unfiltered passion for his work and a quiet discipline that ensures the achievement of all of his goals.  He arrived in Angola to run the clinic and found that it had been abandoned.  With his vast experience, he set out to turn the facility around and implement efficiency and sustainability.  In only a year he succeeded in getting the Angola clinic up and running as a well-oiled machine.
 
Angola is still quite challenging, so Filipe had to endure multiple obstacles in addition to just restructuring the business aspect of the pharmacy.  He encountered lights that would not work and perhaps water that did not run, but thanks to his critical thinking skills he was able to overcome these difficulties by thinking outside of the box and addressing the issues to return to functionality. Filipe’s inner drive and fortitude give him the ability to succeed when the odds are stacked against him.  He is able to barrel through the toughest situations to arrive at the desired result and accomplish the goal at hand. He has global experience and manages a varied group of staff members, and he demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and foster cohesion among the group for consistent achievement of goals related to the organization’s strategic plan.
 
A pharmacist with 11 years of experience, 7 of those internationally, his future goal is to work on a managing level. He holds a Masters in Pharmaceutical Marketing Management, and a Bachelors in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Superior Institute of Health Sciences. Filipe will finish his Executive MBA in 2017. He resides in Queijas, Portugal.
