Francesco Simonelli, Ph.D. has been the Chief Executive Officer of Axitea for the past 10 years, specializing in Commercial/Industrial Design and Implementation. Axitea is a security service group based in Italy, a leader in the sector, including surveillance and security systems integration and maintenance.

With over 20 acquisitions executed in the 10 years of the project, Axitea is the result of the integration of 40 companies that have been merged to create the current structure with a single legal entity. Axitea adopted SAP as ERP in 2012 and recently started a Lean Six Sigma project to improve all business processes. Currently Axitea is managed by a team of 40 executives and managers lead by Francesco Simonelli.

Francesco Simonelli, Ph.D. completed a Laurea in Physics (110e lode/110) in 1985 at the University of Florence and attended Haverford (PA, USA) for his Post Doctoral in Physics. He is fluent in English, French, and Italian. Mr. Simonelli’s extensive work experience and education have resulted in him not only being indispensible to any company, but also to his mark being left on every company he has been a part of.

As the Senior Vice President of Pirelli, Francesco developed and managed the Broadband Access Business Unit providing Equipment and systems for FTTH and xDSL access networks. Previously he managed, as President and COO, Gefran, a company that is active in electronics instrumentation and sensors. He contributed to the company becoming internationalized and was listed to the Milan stock exchange. Most notably, he contributed 5 new patents and 10 science publications, so far, in his career.
Francesco’s near future goals are to continue growing Axitea and contributing to the security sector, as well as enjoying his days skiing, sailing, and horseback riding.
