Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Franz J. Amann

 
COL Franz J. Amann is the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Standing Joint Force Headquarters in the United States Army. In this vital role he is responsible for the operation and synchronization of eight functional staff areas in support of the Department of Defense’s planning and operations, including Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction at the strategic and operational levels. Specializing in coordinating and supporting combat commands, Franz manages over one thousand employees and is dedicated to efficiently and accurately coordinating with all local and state officials.
 
Franz embarked on his extensive education while earning a Bachelor of Science from the distinguished college – The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. He went on to achieve a Master of Science in Business and Administration Management from Central Michigan University. He also holds a Master of Science from Air University Maxwell AFB in Military Operational Art and Science Studies, as well as a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from Navy War College.
 
With over 30 years of military experience holding key leadership and staff positions, Franz has a multi-faceted skill set and many levels of expertise. His history includes commanding an Army Arsenal grossing over $200 million in annual revenue. He was responsible for over 2000 employees and contractors while overseeing installation operations, much like that of a city manager. He led the consolidation of two major U.S. Army Headquarters in Europe with focus on five distinct functional areas ranging from Security, Force Protection, Safety, Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Missile Defense.
 
Franz is a part of Central Michigan University Alumni and is also an active church volunteer. His current role as Chief of Staff is out of Fort Belvoir, Virginia.  He will soon begin his transition from the army as he completes his thirty years of dedicated service.   For leisure, he loves to travel.
