Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Gerrit Jansen van Ryssen
Gerrit Jansen van Ryssen is the founder and Managing Director of Cyclone Engineering Projects (CEP), an accredited BBBEE company that manages and operates cycloned TSFs in the rapidly developing mining South African mining industry. Established in 2007 as a one-man operation, CEP is based in Krugersdorp and has grown to employ over 500 workers, servicing mining operations across all of South Africa.
Having devised and perfected the operations and supply chain processes by which CEP functions, Gerrit knew he had come across a winning formula for success. Wanting to share his developments with the public, he formalized and implemented his methods into what ultimately became CEP. Today, he looks forward to transitioning into a consulting basis, as he makes preparations for retirement and to see his company continue to make an impact in the South African economy.
Often invited to speak at mining industry and new technology events, Gerrit credits his success to a passion for mining and metals, and the work ethic to devote the time and resources necessary to his company as it launched. In his over 30 years of experience, he has seen the cultural and economic landscape of South Africa evolve considerably, and is proud to have created an adaptive and sustaining business model on a national level.
Gerrit earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry from Potchefstroom University for CHE, 1979. He speaks both Zulu and English, and is eager to connect with other mining industry professionals across South Africa and internationally. When he is not working, Gerrit enjoys camping in the great outdoors.
