Gregory Mazares joined Discovia as President of Sales in April 2013. Discovia delivers managed eDiscovery services to Fortune 500 corporations and law firms of all sizes. Using Discovia’s comprehensive solutions, clients across the nation can reduce litigation costs by more than 50 percent, gain better control and visibility into litigation matters, and increase defensibility. The company made the 2012 Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing U.S. companies. They have set their sights on building one of the best companies in the industry and are currently looking for outstanding sales, project management, operations, and technology professionals. Greg is “all-in” on Discovia, as he and his wife recently made a substantial investment in the company and have become one of its largest shareholders.

He received his Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance from the Harvard Business School in 1979 and a BA in Economics from Harvard University in 1977. Throughout his Harvard years, Greg played on the football team and wrote a sports column in the University paper.

Before joining Discovia, Greg served as president and CEO of Encore Discovery Solutions from 2006 through 2012. He led Encore’s turnaround and dramatic growth in revenue and profitability, leading to the company’s sale in April 2011 to Epiq Systems for $100 million. Greg previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Esquire Deposition Services. His other experience includes roles as president of Spherion’s Legal Group and Executive Vice President at Esquire Deposition Services, which was formed through the acquisition of over 30 court reporting agencies as part of a national “roll-up” strategy to build the nation’s largest deposition services provider with over $150 million in revenue. He was also president of Litigation Sciences, at that time the nation’s largest jury research and trial consulting firm. He has significant experience building outstanding sales and operations teams, leading companies to rapid revenue growth and material profitability. Greg has 33 years of general management experience, including over 25 years of legal services industry experience in electronic discovery, document review, trial consulting, demonstrative evidence, courtroom presentation technology, document management, legal research, deposition services and legal staffing. Earlier in his career he held marketing and general management positions at Carnation Company and its parent, Nestle USA, as well as running the Southern California region of the consumer bank of the former First Interstate Bancorp, which was later acquired by Wells Fargo Bank.

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Greg is a devoted fan of all Boston sports teams. In fact, during college Greg worked for three years in the Boston Red Sox front office in ticket sales and public relations, in what he describes as the “best position he has ever held besides working at Discovia.” Now Greg is based in Los Angeles, where he resides with his wife, Constance. Greg contributes his success to having an incredible wife, and hopes to continue building excellent services with Discovia.
