Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Helen Duncan
With a broad range of expertise business, community and educational programs, Helen Duncan has a passion for identifying the needs of different learners and developing learning programs which result in progress and change at both the individual and organizational level. Specializing in the creation and implementation of leadership programs for front-line leaders in both the public and nonprofit sectors, Helen has had measurable impact engaging all levels of learners through the facilitation of active learning.
Her Master’s degree in Continuing Education from the University of Saskatchewan both compliments and enhances her unique expertise and hands on experience. She started her career as the Program Manager of Business and Leadership Programs at the University of Saskatchewan and then became Director of Workforce Development at Keyano College. She went on to the role of Manager of Community Programs for YMCA of Wood Buffalo. After this she was a Senior Leadership Development Specialist for Syncrude Canada. Prior to her retirement she was the Principal Director of Team Approach Inc. where she Provided learning and development expertise and program facilitation and presented MBTI workshops to Suncor frontline leaders.
Some of her career highlights include:
Designed Leadership Excellence Program for 600 front and second line leaders at Syncrude Canada; co-developed and launched 9 week Leadership Development Program for the University of Saskatchewan; co-spearheaded the program development of the Leadership Wood Buffalo, Community Leadership Program; one of the best in Canada: founding board member; customized planning sessions and team building exercises for various groups focused on continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness and conducted needs assessments and best practice research; modified, designed and launched various Adult and Continuing Education courses.
As a testament to her expertise, Helen has been recognized for achievements throughout her career, including commendation for teaching practice, recognition for stellar program development, and the submission of the Aboriginal Leadership Program (which she aided development of) for a CAUCE Programming Excellence Award.
Currently residing in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Helen is thoroughly enjoying her retirement by indulging in her love of international hiking.
