As the Managing Director of Tropic Petroleum Australia, Jeff Regan has overcome adversity to see this family company thrive.

Jeff Regan started from humble beginnings in the petroleum industry in 1980 in Charters Towers North Queensland Australia. In 1984 he had the opportunity to acquire a petroleum business for his family. Year after year this business continued to grow from strength to strength and in the 1990s Jeff became Managing Director of the main family trading business now known as Tropic Petroleum. During the last 34 years sadly, the number of family owned petroleum businesses in Australia have dropped in numbers from a few thousand to possibly less than 100. A happy success story, Tropic Petroleum is one of the largest single family petroleum and convenience stores operators in Queensland, possibly Australia.

Jeff sees great opportunity for high growth in the company possibly doubling or tripling in size in the next 10 years. As an example, the company’s latest investment is the opening of the Roseneath service station/convenience store on the Flinders Highway Roseneath North Queensland Australia. This family business is looking forward to a very prosperous future with Jeff’s son, Jamie Regan, now taking over as CEO of the company although Jeff still remains in an active role as Managing Director and intends to continue to do so for many years to come. Jeff believes the main reason for the continued success of the company is based on staff retention and participation combined with the support of a large number of loyal customers.
