Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Jeffrey Powers
Jeffrey Powers, a successful businessman and entrepreneur, is a Financial Consultant with powersGROUP but is currently giving back more most of his time to those less fortunate.
Jeffrey Powers spent over 34 years growing a small family owned business into a midsize multinational business in 8 countries as CEO and entrepreneur in both product development and starting “greenfield businesses” around the globe with internal capital. Through his keen understanding of the fastening business, financial expertise as well as hyperdriveto create a global company, he and his three brothers grew a small, successful company with YOY organic revenue growth of 17%(2007-2011), and gross margins averaging above 45%. They produced unrivaled service with 50 warehouses globally and in some 22 states within the U.S. He grew the business from a small NY based company to one with 8 overseas companies which generated the majority of revenue and profit. Acting as the seller’s agent, Jeffrey sold the family enterprise to Stanley Black and Decker in 2012 for 11.8 times current EBIDTA- all cash with 7% in holdbacks.
Jeffrey attended Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, earning a BSBA in Finance, and prepared for college at Iona Preparatory School. Since his strong background in academics, Jeffrey has had unparalleled success in his career, and even more importantly, turned to focus on his community. An active member of both the business and philanthropic community, Jeffrey dedicates much of his time advising non-profit organizations and as a Knight of Malta he spends the majority of his time is spent working with the sick and poor. He says that he is blessed to be in the position to help others.
Jeffrey has numerous affiliations due to his keen ability to network for the greater good. He was recently appointed to serve on the Advisory Board of Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and is on the Advisory Board of St. Vincent’s Hospital. He is currently the Director of the Eucharistic Ministry at St. Vincent’s that cares for those with mental illness and drug addiction. Powers is also on the President’s Council at the Greenwich YWCA. He is the Coordinator for Badger Swim Club’s BADGER2020 Initiative and is affiliated with Treasure Coast Swimming in Vero Beach. He is serving his 3rd term on the House Committee of Winged Foot Golf Club and has also founded the Vero Hope Floats Scholarship to advantage disadvantaged youth through swimming.
Currently Jeffrey is a resident of Vero Beach, Florida and has a home in Larchmont, New York, while keeping a home office in Greenwich, Connecticut. Jeffrey looks forward to the future with his affiliation with Badger Swim Club and Treasure Coast Swim Club given his passion for helping the less fortunate with scholarships. He has recently founded the Float Hope Scholarship in Vero Beach. He is blessed with 5 children and an extremely supportive wife, Eilis. Jeffrey enjoys spending time teaching that happiness is gained by being able to give back more than one has achieved.
