Dr. Jocelyn Yelle is a results-oriented professional, and an executive with a strong scientific background and business acumen. Jocelyn has served the roles of Co-Founder and Senior Scientific Consultant at Antiviral InteliStrat Inc. since 2006. He has well-established realizations in the discovery and development of new antiviral drugs and management of research teams. Antiviral InteliStrat Inc. is a company offering scientific advices and counseling to professionals active in antiviral drug discovery and development or involved in other scientific missions, along with access to a proprietary comprehensive database with preclinical and clinical information on antiviral drugs and vaccines at any stage of development.

He holds both an MSc and a PhD degrees in virology from the Armand-Frappier Institute, Laval (Canada), part of Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique and now integrated into the international Pasteur Institute network. Before specializing in virology, Dr. Yelle also received a BSc degree in biology/microbiology from University of Montreal. Prior to founding Antiviral InteliStrat Inc., Dr. Yelle was co-founder and Vice President, Research and Development, of Pharmacor Inc., where he spearheaded research programs that led to the discovery of PL-100, a very potent protease inhibitor for HIV/AIDS that was later licensed to Merck & Co. In conjunction with this, he is currently an Editorial Board Member for a New Publication Titled, “Journal of Human Virology and Retrovirology.”

A seasoned public speaker, Dr. Yelle has received many invitations to participate in high profile conferences and events  and Universities including but not limited to: the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Canada (Apr. 2006): “ Discovery of new anti-HIV compounds : the Pharmacor Inc.’s journey”; the 2003 World Drug Discovery & Development Summit, Copenhagen, Denmark (Feb. 2003);  the 2nd Annual Conference on Emerging Canadian Biotechs in Healthcare, Montreal, Canada (Jul. 2000); the Pharmacy Department, University of Montreal, Canada (Nov. and Dec. 1999): “Viral replication and antiviral drugs”; the Microbiology and Immunology Department, University of Montreal, Canada (Dec. 1995): “Development and evaluation of new agents for inhibition of HIV enzymes”; the Science Forum at Armand-Frappier Institute, Laval, Canada (Oct. 1994): “Viruses that surround us: Viruses are a major cause of infectious diseases in human. What are they?”; the 29th Congress of the Association of Science Teachers of Quebec, Montreal, Canada (Oct. 1994): “Biotechnology and recent progress research on the AIDS virus” and the Armand-Frappier Institute, Laval (May 1992): “Analysis of HIV-1-induced persistent infections in cell culture”.

He has received several honors and awards such as being made Honorable Editor, Journal of Human Virology & Retrovirology, MedCrave Publishing Group, since June 2014; co-recipient with Ambrilia Biopharma’s research team of the Chairman Poster Award, XVI International HIV Drug Resistance Workshop, June 12-16, 2007, Barbados, WI; represented Pharmacor Inc. as Finalist in 3 successive “Enterprise of the Year” competitions (2001-2003) organized by Laval’s Office of Commerce and Industry, in categories “Research” and “Technology”; co-recipient of a Performance Award to Pharmacor Inc. in 1999 granted by Quebec’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce for outstanding research programs on new drugs against HIV/AIDS and Scholarships from French Government (Institut Pasteur, Paris), Medical Research Council of Canada, Cancer Research Society of Canada, and Government of Quebec. For all of his achievements, Jocelyn credits his success to stubbornness, tenacity, and will to succeed.

Currently residing in Laval City, Quebec, Dr. Yelle enjoys cross country skiing in his spare time. He is fluent in French and English.
