Practicing the law since 1988, Jorge Castro-Olmos is Senior Partner at Bufete Castro & Asociados S.R.L. Jorge is proficient in law and is also a licensed notary public with over 27 years of experience. Served as Notary Public for the National Insurance Company for over 18 years. Jorge has served as an attorney for international banks, insurance companies, and trust companies. Have served as Senior Trustee for over 20 years in different Trust companies, local and international.
 
In law school, Jorge also studied tax treaties, international and commercial tax, contracts, and asset protection at the Collegium Academicum of the Universidad Autónoma de Centroamérica and at Georgetown University Law Center, earning his law degree in 1987. He also holds a Master of Science and Magister in Economic Sciences, from the University of Costa Rica, and a Master of Business Administration with a major in Finance and Banking from the National University in San Diego.
 
Prior to becoming a lawyer and notary public, Jorge worked as a paralegal for three years in a private law firm and also in the Costa Rican Judicial System, at the local City Courthouse. Jorge specializes in civil, corporate, business, insurance, banking, and financial law. He also attends various conferences in the legal sector.
 
While Jorge works long hours that go well into the night, he always manages to find time for his family, often coming home to make sure he has dinner and quality time with his two children. He is a big proponent of democracy and likes to assist in any way he can. He works as a volunteer during election time, acting as an inspector and advisor to voting poll staff and voters. He helps candidates of all parties in their running for election.
 
When Jorge does find some spare time, he enjoys going horseback riding and taking his BMW motorcycle out for a cruise. He has a goal of writing his own books and having some articles published in the future. He looks to the future with the goal of doing more consulting work and possibly owning some farm or rural land to breed horses and train. He currently lives in San Jose, Costa Rica.
 
Jorge has been a member of the Costa Rica Bar Association since 1988. In 2013, he received an award from the Bar Association and from the Notaries Association as well, recognizing his 25 years of legal service without any license suspension, at that time.
