Jorge R. Urrutia is the President and CEO of Management Solutions Inc. (MSI), a federal government contracting company comprised of engineers, architects, scientists, IT and cyber security experts. Specializing in complex technology, engineering and management solutions across a complex business landscape, offering a unique integrated, mission-oriented approach. With over 13 years at the helm of MSI, Jorge is an expert in various areas of technology and engineering.
Jorge Urrutia, received his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engeneering from the University of Maryland, in 1976. Later in 2001, Jorge received his Master degree in Public Administration from Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government. After a very successful career with the U.S. federal government, in various parts of the world, Jorge rose to the highest level in civil service, SES Level 5, as the Director for Administration and CFO for the National Instituto of Standards and Technology (NIST) Mr. Urrutia, took an early retirement from public service in 2003 and founded MSI. Jorge has grown MSI (www.msiuniversal.com) into a multi-million dollar company. It is clear that his years of successful federal experience allowed him to grow MSI into the company it is today. The objective of MSI is to provide complete and efficient well-integrated to its clients. MSI is one of only thirty companies that r were awarded a Pool 1 OASIS contract, awarded to the best contractors in the nation During his years as a public servant, Jorge was awarded, among others, the Gold Medal from the Secretary of Commerce, a Plaque of Recognition from the Surgeon General of the United States, a Proclamation from the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland establishing the 3rd of June as Jorge Urrutia’s Day in Gaithersburg. He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, National Society of Civil Engineers, Senior Executive Service Association and Rotary International and a Registered Professional Engineer in the States of Maryland and Minnesota
In spite of his busy schedule, Jorge donates whatever free time he has, to a number of charities. In the last three years, Jorge has been involved supporting efforts to build a new hospital wing for children with cancer,in Guatemala. Jorge He has been a Member of the Board of Directors of various organizations dedicated to education and social issues in need of improvement. In addition, Jorge frequently attends schools and gives lectures to children on the importance of education as well as on issues related to Sciences, Technology and Engineering (STEM). Jorge credits his success to God, hard work, passion, understanding, paying close attentionto details, a dynamic personality and his incredible team of employees. He resides in Montgomery Village, Maryland, and spends time in Fort Lauderdale, FL where he owns a beach home
