Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes José Negrón-Fernández, Esq.

 
José Negrón-Fernández, Esq., is owner and lawyer for the Negrón-Fernández Law Office, a private practice founded in 2015. He specializes in Employment Law Cases, General Civil Litigation and appellate matters.  He also is an Arbitrator and Neutral Evaluator certified by the Bureau of Alternate Dispute Resolutions Methods of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico.
 
Mr. Negrón-Fernández is a distinguished professional with over 20 years of experience in litigation, arbitration and administration. He served as Superior Court Judge for almost six years (2007-2012) presiding civil courtrooms, Drug Court and other specialized courtrooms.  During part of his tenure as a Judge, José was a member of the Chief Justice Advisory Committee.  In January 2013, Mr. Negrón-Fernández was appointed by the Governor of Puerto Rico as Secretary of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, being a member of the Constitutional Cabinet of the Governor and, among other things, responsible for the proper administration and supervision of a $450 million budget operation.
 
Before being appointed as a Superior Court Judge, Mr. Negrón-Fernández was a member of the Law Firm of Fiddler, González & Rodríguez, LLP, counseling, among other clients, financial institutions, insurance carriers, multinational pharmaceutical, distributors and public corporations.  Currently José sits as the Director for his own private law practice, combining his prior experience as a Judge, Administrator and Litigator, to be able to offer his clients superior legal advisory with keen insight.
 
José brings along with his professional experience a strong educational background, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and International Business from The American University in Washington D.C., and a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law.  He is a Tolls Fellows alumni from the Council of State Governments. He speaks Spanish and English, residing and practicing law in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.
