Mila Batinovich de Pereirais President and General Manager of Cultivos Selectos, S.A., a fresh produce company based in the beautiful Chiriqui’s highlands of the tropical country of Panama. With 20 yearsof experience in agriculture business, Mila is an expert in the industries of producing, processing, and packaging goods. As President of Cultivos Selectos, she is head of the company who is the leader of cold chain products in Panama, using state-of-the-art vacuum cooling processing for guaranteed freshness.
 
Cultivos Selectos, S.A. produces a wide a variety of fresh and processed vegetables managed with cold chain under environmentally-friendly farming practices for potatoes, carrots, cabbage, celery, broccoli, leeks, and lettuces. They most recently added heirloom tomatoes, kale, and red romaine lettuce.
 
Prior to her 20-year stint in the fresh produce industry, Mila spent 15 years acting as upper level management for leading tobacco companies in the region. She has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to big business in the Latin American market, and attributes her success to her winning attitude and perseverance.
 
Mila is a member of Cámara de Comercio de Chiriquí (Chiriquí Chamber of Commerce), and GS1. She has received such honors as the title of Innovative Producer by Ministerio de Desarrollo Agropecuario (Ministry of Agricultural Development), and Feria Internacional de David (David International Fair). Mila attended the University of Bologna in 1976, where she received her Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Industrial Chemistry.
 
As CEO for Cultivos Selectos, S.A., Mila has helped the business to become a leader in the cold chain market in Panama. While she has been a force to be reckoned with in her professional life, Mila’s enthusiasticand driven outlook has strengthened her through her ongoing battle with breast cancer. She continues to lead a normal life, and has been able to balance her professional development hoping to inspire and connect with others, along with her passion to impact the world for the better. Mila enjoys nature walks, hiking, watching movies with her daughters and a good glass of red wine.
