Nina Deutsch is a pianist, singer, speaker, and writer. Nina Deutsch is an accomplished musician who not only celebrates music history, but has made some history of her own.

Ms. Deutsch, a pioneer in USA-China cultural relations, premiered the performance of Bob Dylan’s Blow’in in the Wind, Ives Concord Sonata No 2, and other American classics to Chinese audiences during her historic visit to Peking in 1982. She is credited with being the first American to re-introduce American music to China in the post-Mao era. She was also licensed by Bob Dylan to record his classic songs for solo piano in 2009, becoming the only classical pianist to be licensed with the legend.

Nina has performed as soloist in more than 1500 concerts and recitals throughout the world, in such venues as Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, the United Nations, and Wigmore Hall in London. She has appeared on NBC, CBC, and BBC television and has been heard on Voice of America, Bloomberg Radio, Shanghai, and Peking Radio.

Both greatly educated and celebrated, Nina holds a Bachelors degree in Piano from Julliard and a Master of Musical Arts degree from Yale University. In 2013, Nina was named as one the 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century by the International Biographical Centre in Cambridge, England. She received an Award in American Music from the National Federation of Music Clubs in 1975.

In 1982, Nina was also the first pianist to perform all-American music concerts on the theme of Peace, Friendship, and Humanity in China. She was the first American artist to create this kind of program. Additionally, Nina’s historic Peking concert is in the library of former President George H.W. Bush and in the Paley Center.

Ms. Deutsch has been on the board of the Metzner Medical Foundation for 15 years and was the Executive Vice President of the International Symphony for World Peace for 4 years. She is a National Arts Associate of Sigma Alpha Iota, who published Nina’s article on how she was invited by the PRC government to perform in the People’s Republic of China and have a music exchange on stage. Nina also sang the international anthem for world peace in mandarin Chinese.

Recently Nina was invited to Japan to perform a concert for the tsunami relief fund. She performed with Choir Musette, survivors of the tsunami, for and with an audience of tsunami victims, on November 12, 2013 in Japan.  Nina Deutsch Concert Nov.12, 2013 Japan

She credits her success and place in American Music History to her education and attendance at Yale University. If Nina never studied Charles Ives she would have never produced the record of his work leading to her exceptional career. Nina hopes to network and potentially mentor other Yale Alumni and distinguished/young professionals, using her guidance and mentorship to help them excel in their dreams and goals. Nina is available for radio interviews to talk about her incredible and unusual life journey and experiences from Charles Ives to Bob Dylan.
