Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Patronella Diedricks

Patronella Diedricks is a well-known South African actress that has successfully worn several hats throughout her career. She is best recognized for her acting role as Refiloe Monare on Isidingo and as Colonel Tumi Mofokeng on Streets of Mangaung but is also established on the behind the scenes action, working as a producer on shows such as Muvhango, The Toasty Show, Takalani Sesame, and others. Patronella has also taken on projects that have been controversial, such as a work on Intsika, a series that tackled a young man’s journey to manhood, corruption and conflict. It was important to tackle this project as the series “explored issues that deeply affect South African society today,” and by doing so, “… change the mind set of audiences, and … effect behavioral change.”

Patronella’s is passionate about mentoring young South Africans in different disciplines in the television industry. This is important as this is an industry in which opportunities for real participation are few. As executive producer of Bubblegum Factory, Patronella created a production model through which ninety hours of television were filmed, while mentoring eighty film interns, as well as countless scriptwriters and actors.

Currently she is the managing director of BLQ2WRK Multimedia, a production company that focuses on providing quality programming to the public. BLQ2WRK is dedicated to empowering women and the youth to be industry ready and enter the television and film industry. In between offering assistance to others as they make their start, Patronella has found time to write and produce two movies, A Woman’s Worth and Chicken Murder. Her success can be attributed to her desire to constantly learn new things and her ability to take risks. It was her first risk, going on an audition with her friend, which led to the successes that followed.

Patronella obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry from Christian Family Church Bible School. In her spare time, she enjoys spending with her family and staying on the lookout for new projects.
