Regina (SanFanandre) Davis is a celebrated author and retired teacher of 37 years. Co-author with Carolyn Spencer of the ANTI-BULLYING series of books, the series kicked off with Senor Smartypants and the Mystery of the Missing Teachers, which won an Honorable Mention at the 2014 J.M. Northern Southern California Book Festival. Published by AuthorHouse, Davis and Spencer’s series also includes Lord Computesalot, Ruler of Aurora Bullyalis, and His Secret Quest to End Bullying (Honorable Mention recipient at the J.M. Halloween Book Festival, October 2013) and its corresponding activity book, Lord Computesalot’s Quintessential Quest to Banish Bullies, all illustrated by Spencer. Regina admired storytelling and education from an early age. She received honors as a grade school student and placed in the New York Spelling Bee at the age of 13. After earning a BS cum laude in Elementary Education from St. John’s University in 1967, she went on to complete a Master of Arts in English from Hofstra. Upon graduation with her masters, Regina taught elementary education at Charles Campagne Elementary School in Bethpage, Long Island. She later relocated to Virginia Beach, where she taught grades 1-4 and Title 1 Reading and Math. As a Newtown Elementary School Teacher, she was named Reading teacher of the Year in recognition of her dedication and painstakingly created lessons.

Also a poet, in 1996 Regina’s poem “Tomorrow” was published in the anthology Across the Universe: The National Library of Poetry. Regina continues to write throughout her retirement, and remains an active member of the International Reading Association, Virginia Beach Education Association and the National Education Association. She is also a member of the Red Hats, and together with Spencer is a board member and Educational Committee member of the Cape Charles Historical Society.

Regina’s love of language and pursuit of excellence has passed on to her son, David, an entrepreneur who runs The Furniture Stop in Glendale, Arizona. A proud grandmother, through David, Regina has two grandchildren, with whom she loves to visit.

Regina and Spencer credit the success of their series to dedication and a lifetime of experience observing bullying. Recognizing that bullying is a problem from cradle to grave, the pair revolutionized the anti-bullying movement by not shying away from depicting adults bully one another. Regina speaks publicly at libraries and assemblies, reading from her books and discussing bullying behavior and methods by which to combat it. The books are beloved by children and adults, alike.
