Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Robert J. Horn
Robert J. Horn is a Shareholder at Jackson Lewis PC, an American workplace law firm founded in 1958 in New York City. It employs over 780 attorneys practicing in 55 locations across the United States. Robert has been practicing law for over 40 years, and had held his position at Jackson Lewis since 2013 as well as senior positions in government and private industry.
He earned a BBA in Public Administration with a Minor in Economics from Baruch College and received his JD from Fordham University. In addition, Robert holds a Certificate from the University of Michigan for the Graduate School of Business Administration Program for Utility Executives. Robert served as an assistant to the Secretary of HUD and authored the “HUD Study of Real Estate Costs.” Additional posts Robert has held throughout his extraordinary career include Executive Secretary of the Presidential Clemency Board in the White House, Vice President for Federal Affairs at DTE Energy and Partner at the law firm Patton Boggs LLP.
Robert is very active in professional associations, Robert has been a member of the DC Bar since 1982, NY Bar Member Since 1967; he was Vice Chair for ABA Administrative Law Committee and served on the Board of the National Council of Crime & Delinquency. He currently serves as General Counsel to the Border Patrol Foundation and the American Airmail Society. He is the Founding Chair of the Republican Lawyers Association, which he helped develop into a large national organization of over 5000 members. He speaks at international and national conferences and in the 1980s co- authored articles on the use of hydrogen as an alternative fuel to power automobiles. He was awarded 2 Presidential Appointments to the Holocaust Memorial Council, the first by Ronald Regan in May of 1987 and again by George H. W. Bush in June of 1992. He was elected to the Executive Committee and chaired the Museum’s Governance Committee. President Clinton held him over and asked him to become a member of the negotiating team that obtained restitution for the double victims of the Communism and Nazism in Eastern Europe.
Robert lives with his wife outside Washington, DC and speaks fluent English and German.
