Bristol Who’s Who Recognizes Snorre Bakken
Snorre Bakken is a Valve and Instrument Specialist at Kvaerner, a knowledge-based company that delivers complete oil and gas offshore platforms and onshore process plants. Specializing engineering and construction projects utilizing some of the world’s most advanced technologies, Kvaerner is a recognized world leader well seasoned in complex operations and comprised of 2900 expert employees worldwide. As a Valve and instrument Specialist, Snorre is able to focus on the highly technical demands of field development and modifications, and serves as the technical authority on critical valve and instrument packages on both subsea, freestanding and open air projects. He also is currently working on the Oseberg future development and the Johan Sverdrup future development, as well as the Subsea on a stick(SOS)-Unmanned Wellhead Platform’s (UWP).
After completing Mechanical, Engines and Aerospace engineering studies at the Goteborgs Tekniska Institutt, Snorre earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Fuel & Energy from the University of Leeds and Snorre launched his engineering career. Having worked on an impressive roster of top engineering contracts across the course of his career, highlights include Conoco Phillips in Eldfisk, Heidrun LPP and most recently Leviathan FPSO for Noble USA. Prior to joining Kvaerner, Snorre served as the Managing Director of SB-Engineering Valves Ltd, where he consulted, designed and implemented solutions to meet ship and oil rig needs.
With over 20 years of experience in the fuel and energy industry, Snorre is a highly specialized and capable engineer with a passion for what he does. He speaks fluent English, Italian, Norwegian and German, and resides in Trondheim, Sor-Tronderlag, Norway. In his spare time, Snorre enjoys playing football, weightlifting, biking and salmon fishing in the beautiful Norwegian countryside.
