Dr. Stefan Busch, Senior Director Emerging Portfolio and Real World Evidence at AstraZeneca, has over fifteen years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He holds a large spectrum of national and international experience in marketing, medical, strategic planning, sales, business development and business operations. He is responsible for overseeing all medical staff handling medical component evaluations, and the medical and commercial evaluation of pipeline products. He also oversees the design and project management of Real World Evidence studies, and arming the organization for new therapy areas.
 
Stefan is known for being results-driven and passionate as a business professional. With a profound amount of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, he has proven time and again his ability to work independently or in cross-functional team environments. His hands-on leadership and strong business orientation are widely recognized to help develop and implement measures on time and quality standards. He possesses excellent presentation and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to develop relationships with senior executives as well as team members and clients.
 
He holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Max-Planck Institut für Biophysik, and is fluent in several languages such as German, English and French. He is also a member of several prestigious associations such as The German Society Of Pharmacology, IISS (London), and The Lions Club. He says that to key to all his success is that he holds a great love for his profession, and has no desire to do anything else. Stefan loves dog walking, and lives in Hamburg, Germany.
